In September 2020, China set the goal of "carbon peak" by 2030 and "carbon neutral" by 2060. As an important economic development region, the Reduction of carbon emissions in the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the realization of the peak of carbon dioxide emissions as soon as possible play a crucial role in China's completion of the carbon dioxide emission reduction target as scheduled. Taking the Yangtze River Economic Belt as the research object, the total carbon emission, per capita carbon emission, carbon emission productivity and other core indicators of 108 prefecture-level cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2003 to 2018 were calculated. By establishing a spatial econometric model and testing the panel data of 108 cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, this paper empirically analyzes the spatial effects and influencing factors of urban carbon emissions in the Yangtze River Economic Belt. At the same time, a model is built to estimate the peak carbon emission of cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt. Finally, differentiated carbon emission reduction policy suggestions are proposed for the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
